ERA (Environmental Research Aircraft) version

The earth's surface (agriculture, forests, urban areas and industrial sites) can emit or absorb carbon dioxide, which is the most important gas among the so-called "greenhouse gases". Nowadays it is vital to measure the greenhouse gas fluxes in order to take decision about the environment protection policy and evaluate the consequences on the earth's climate. Gases are not absorbed emitted homogeneously on the earth is surface. A specifically configured aerial platform such as the Sky Arrow ERA is an extraordinary operating vehicle for environmental measurement and it is the best operating solution to perform monitoring and assessment of gas fluxes.

The Sky Arrow 650 TCNS is the aerial platform integrated into the RAWAS/ERA System. This platform can also be equipped with specific instrumentation in order to perform environmental research.

Aircraft different configurations for specific applications are hereunder described.

Airframe modifications consist of:

1. Structural modification for antennas and external instruments installation;

2. Trapdoors on the fuselage bottom for internal instruments, scanners and video cameras on stabilized platform;

3. Nose modification for atmospheric measurement instrumentation;

4. Structural device for rapid installation of internal instrumentation;

5. Instrumentation power supply.

After a mission, the wings can be rapidly removed to allow road transportation aircraft can also be hangared in limited space.

The aircraft can be equipped by a type-approved trailer (800 Kg weight).
